The sellers invite keen buyers to speak with them… This impressively renovated Cortijo, dating back to 1894 is now priced for a quick sale. It is a superb tourism opportunity for a lucky buyer…

This charming private estate features two watermills, a 16th century mill tower and a 6 metre waterfall and is situated in a lush river valley. It is located in the north west of the Granada province, in the heart of rural inland Andalucía.

On the land is… The main mill house (owners accommodation), five independent guest properties (all restored with attention to detail, love and care) and a kidney shaped pool with pool terrace. Andalucian charm has been retained everywhere and each property has its own private outside space.

Within easy reach of; Granada, Malaga, Seville and Cordoba, its rural location provides a haven for wildlife and an excellent environment for walking or birdwatching. Despite the peace and seclusion, it is the perfect holiday location being well connected to the most popular cities within Andalucía and the popular villages of Iznajar, Algarinejo and Zagra.

The buildings have been restored in an authentic and charming style and consist of the mill building which contains the owners’ accommodation, a separate office/games room, 5 holiday rental properties, library, gym and an eco-friendly swimming pool all set in a little over a hectare of land.

It works well as a holiday rentals business but would also be ideal as an extended family home with or without rentals income. The site and layout would also lend itself to themed holidays for groups such as yoga retreats and alternative therapies and events: family reunions, seminars, training etc.

For those wanting to embrace a largely self-sufficient lifestyle it has the space and resources to make this a reality by providing an income in addition to having a large plot of fertile land for growing your own food or keeping animals.

The majority of the magnificent 1894 mill house is currently used as the owners’ accommodation

It is spread over two floors comprising 2 bedrooms, 2 en-suite bathrooms (1 with double ended bath and separate shower cubicle, the other with a shower), sitting room complete with wood burning stove, a further air conditioned salon in the upper mill room complete with restored mill machinery, kitchen/diner, garden room and office.

The kitchen has a pantry and is equipped with two sinks, Bosch dishwasher, Falcon/Rangemaster range cooker, a Falcon/Rangemaster American fridge/freezer and space for a second fridge/freezer. The upper floor has high beamed ceilings and solar assisted underfloor heating and hot water. The garden room includes a laundry area with a sink and high capacity Bosch washing machine. All the windows and glazed doors in this building are double glazed and were made by a local craftsman.

The main lower floor room contains more restored mill machinery, has a wood burning stove and has been used as a private bar for rental guests.

Outside the mill house is a large cobbled courtyard and to the side is the original mill arch which contains a restored mill wheel. This courtyard is shaded by two mature vines and has a built-in barbecue.

The owners’ accommodation also has a walled and gated private garden with greenhouse, shaded dining area, two ponds, a bread oven and well stocked flower beds. To the rear of the garden are a two-vehicle carport and a tool shed. On the hill above the mill house is a palm tree and chicken house and run from where the hens and doves get a panoramic view of the valley.
