Calasparra has more than six hundred years of existence and the history is absolutely amazing. There are caves with rupestrian paintings, declared World Heritage by the unesco, and archaeological sites ranging from Palaeolithic to Hispano-Muslim, with artefacts housed in the Archaeological Museum (former Encomienda building).

The Nuestra Seora de la Esperanza, or Our Lady of Hope, the patron saint of Calasparra, whos Shrine excavated in the rock face forms part of a beautiful spot on the banks of the River Segura. All this is a 30 min walk or a 5 min drive.

However, you dont even need to reach town to benefit from local amenities as the development includes two bars with the restaurant, Titanium, specialising in delicious Murcian food. Just a 5-10min walk means you dont even have to get in the car.
